BLOOD ISLAND RAIDERS

The Monarch, Camden 29.03.09

BLOOD ISLAND RAIDERS
Lets face it BIR are the best exponents of doom laden heavy metal, massive amounts of 'bottom end' crashes right through you thanks to the bass of Tj and drums of Paul, held together with the Rev Al's outstanding guitar work and a huge vocal performance of Warren who echo's Danzig and Morrison.

Tonight we only get a short set which is a real shame because they dont have time to perform "Rust" one of my all time fave tracks, but we are treated to some great songs ending with "I am the King".

METALWORKS
Another Metalworks gig this time with guitarist Matt from Voodoo Six.

This evenings set is more "metal" than ususal essentially a few covers inbetween mini sets of Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and Ac/Dc, the latter with guest guitarist Rocco from Roxville.

Would have prefered if they had thrown in some older stuff like Free to break things up but overall nothing to complain about (Except the metallica cover, metallica = YUK!).

The only down bit of the evening was a guest vocal from bloke who massacred a couple of Judas Priest songs, i figured that he would be halford or Owens like, hence the guest spot, but no he was neither.
